FIELDING (Minister of Finance) moved that the House go into Committee of Supply.
Mr. R. L. BORDEN.
Before that motion s put, I would call the Prime Minister's at-ention to the portion of the correspondence vhich has been brought down respecting lie proposed alterations in the contract be-ween the government and the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway Company. On page 3 of ;he correspondence, as printed, I find this paragraph with reference to one of the proposed alterations :
The terms upon which the Grand Trunk is o acquire the common stock of the Gran^ Trunk Pacific and the liability to he incurred by such
acquisition to be fully determined and made the subject of agreement.
I presume that some such agreement has been made. Would there be any objection to including it as part of the correspondence ?
Et. Hon. Sir WILFRID LAURIER *(Prime Minister). I have to inform my hon. friend that everything relating to this matter has been laid before the House, the letter of the president of the company, Sir Charles Rivers-Wilson, making certain requests, and the concessions made by the government.
Mr. R. L. BORDEN.
There is no such agreement, then V
Sir WILFRID LAURIER.
Nothing more than appears in the correspondence.

Mr. CLANCY.
I think the hon. gentleman promised to bring down certain papers in relation to the erection or improvement of the buildings in the city of Guelph. Perhaps he has them now.
Hon. JAS. SUTHERLAND (Minister of Public Works).
I have the plans showing the building and improvements that have been made at Guelph, and I now lay them on the table.
Mr. CLARKE.
Has the minister a letter accompanying the plans and explaining them ?
Mr. JAS. SUTHERLAND.
The question raised by certain hon. gentlemen opposite was that the plans made by the architect were impossible of execution, and were not being carried out. I have brought down the plans to show that these statements were erroneous, and that the work was being carried oh as stated by the department.
Mr. CLARKE.
That statement is hardly in accordance with the facts. I think the complaint was that it was impossible 1o erect that building on a certain street, that it was impossible to carry out the plans where the site had been chosen.
Mr. JAS. SUTHERLAND.
The ' Hansard ' shows what was said.
Mr. LENNOX.
The explanation required is this : We have the ground plans there-
Mr. DEPUTY SPEAKER.
This question is not now before the committee. In order that it may be brought up it will be necessary to make a motion.
Mr. JAS. SUTHERLAND.
It will come up for consideration later on.
