1. Yes, an option has been secured. Negotiations were conducted with Mr. Thomas Metcalfe, barrister. '

2. $1,000 per foot frontage for the two first lots, 101-38 feet, and $950 per foot frontage for the third lot, 32-90 feet.

3. Frontage 134-28, of an irregular depth of 195 feet for 81 feet, of 144 for 20 feet and 100 feet for 33 feet. Situated on Portage avenue, between Garry and Fort streets.

5. Chief Architect Ewart and Chief Post Office Inspector Ross looked into this matter first when visiting Winnipeg in February last, and the site selected was examined and recommended for purchase by them.

6. Mr. Thomas Metcalfe, barrister.

7 and 8. The new post office building will, it is expected, give ample accommodation for the next twenty-five years.

' (a) Has the government received a complaint from certain electors of Prince county, Prince Edward Island, alleging that one John M. DesRoches, of Little Tignish, township No. 2, fishery guardian, had committed fraud in connection with the distribution of fishing bounty checks for the season of 1902, and asking that the same be investigated ?

Yes, petitions have been received for the construction of branch lines as follows: -From O'Leary station to Cape Wolfe, from Mount Albion station to Pownal, from Cardigan to Montague, from Murray river to Murray harbour, from Murray river to Machon's point or Beach's point, from Vernon river hi idge to Lake Verde station, from some point oil Cape Traverse branch to Xew-Lon-dou bay. Request by letter from Air. J. ,T. Hughes, M.P., for an extension from Souris to Elmira. x o. A location survey was made between Murray river and Murray harbour ; and instrumental surveys were made between Cardigan, on the main line, and Montagu? bridge ; between Montague bridge and Surrey road, on the Murray harbour branch [DOT] also between Hoitts' Mill and Brudenell river and New Perth station on the main line. Reconnaissance surveys were made from Montague bridge to the Murray harbour branch near Kinross, also from McRae's Mill to Murray river. The intention Mr. SAM. HUGHES.
