James Kirkpatrick Kerr (Speaker of the Senate)

Liberal

Mr. SPEAKER.

(Translation.) My intention in asking the hon. gentleman to apologize, is to settle the present incident. The other day I considered that it was my duty to call upon the hon. gentleman to withdraw a certain expression without asking an apology. In the discharge of my duty, I have just called upon the hon, member for Souris (Mr. Schaffner) who had ignored the rules of the House, to withdraw the expression he had used, and to apologize. I think it would be proper for the hon. member for Temiseouata to do the same, so that we may go on with the debate.
