1. Dutiable oil boring machinery is not separately classified in the customs returns as compiled, and it would require a special compilation and considerable time to obtain this information.

The value of ''well-drilling machinery and apparatus of a class or kind not .made in Canada, for drilling for water, natural gas, or oil, and for prospecting for minerals, not including motive power " entered for consumption at the port of Calgary during the fiscal yeaTS ended 31st March, 1914, 1915 and 1916, respectively, was as follows: 191314, $4,415; 1914-15, $191,992; 1915-16, $39.

2. This well-drilling machinery was entered duty free. It is not usual to give the names of individual importers entering goods through the customs.
