Sir,-I have the honour to inform you that the Right Hon. F. A. Anglin, acting as Deputy of His Excellency the Governor General, will proceed to the
Senate chamber on Wednesday the 12th instant, at 5 p.m. for the purpose of giving the royal assent to certain bills.

To the Hon. the Speaker of the

On the Orders of the Day:
Hon. G. H. BOIVIN (Minister of Customs):
Sir HENRY DRAYTON:
I wonder if my hon. friend could tell us the date when the dumping duty of six cents became effective?
Mr. BOIVIN:
I am under the impression
that all invoices for butter shipped after the 1st of January were received subject to amendment, and the dumping duty of six cents has been imposed since that date.
Mr. FRED DAVIS (East Calgary):
Are
we to understand that in the case of all
The Budget-Mr. Heenan
butter released on the basis of the payment of a duty of one cent a pound the dumping duty of six cents will be enforced?
Mr. BOIVIN:
It depends on the date of the shipment.
Mr. DAVIS:
Take the case of shipments
made since January 1st.
