Motion agreed to.

PRIVILEGE-MR. WOODSWORTH

Mr. J. S. WOODSWORTH (Winnipeg North Centre)): Mr. Speaker, I rise to a question of privilege. Yesterday I stated that the member for Lisgar (Mr. Brown) was not present at the last meeting of the private bills committee. I find I was mistaken: he was present. I am sorry that I was misinformed, and hence misled the house.

INTERIM SUPPLY

ONE-SIXTH VOTE

Right Hon. W. L. MACKENZIE KING (Prime Minister): Mr. Speaker, I understand from the Minister of Finance (Mr. Robb) that he has had a word with the hon. leader of the opposition (Mr. Bennett) with regard to permitting interim supply to be granted. With that understanding I should like to ask the unanimous consent of the house to go into committee of supply to introduce a resolution to that effect.

CON

Richard Bedford Bennett (Leader of the Official Opposition)

Conservative (1867-1942)

Hon. R. B. BENNETT (Leader of the Opposition):

That is quite acceptable, Mr. Speaker, speaking for myself and those associated with me.

Mr. MACKENZIE KING moved that the house go into committee of supply.

Motion agreed to and the house went into committee, Mr. Johnston in the chair.

Motion agreed to. Resolution reported and concurred in. Mr. Mackenzie King thereupon moved for leave to introduce Bill No. 171 for granting to His Majesty certain sums of money for the public service for the financial year ending 31st March, 1930. Motion agreed to, bill read the first and second time, and the house went into committee thereon, Mr. Johnston in the chair. On section 1-Short title.

CON

Richard Bedford Bennett (Leader of the Official Opposition)

Conservative (1867-1942)

Mr. BENNETT:

I suppose it is unnecessary to state that this supply is granted on the same terms as we granted interim supply a few weeks ago-without prejudice to our right to comment on the various items of the main supply bill, and that it shall not be taken that we accede to the soundness of any appropriation without the right to criticize it.

I make that statement merely as a matter of form.
