MORTGAGE CREDITS FOR FISHERMEN
Hon. GROTE STIRLING (Acting Minister of Fisheries) moved that the house go into
B.C. Relief Camp Strikers
committee at the next sitting ,to consider the following proposed resolution:
That it is expedient to bring in a measure for the purpose of establishing a system of long term mortgage credit for fishermen, under the administration of the Canadian farm loan board, and to authorize the government of Canada to provide initial capital in an amount not exceeding three hundred thousand dollars, and to subscribe an amount of five per cent of the capital stock as loans are made; to purchase fishermen's long term loan bonds in an amount not exceeding five hundred thousand dollars; and to guarantee the principal and interest of such bonds to an amount not exceeding one million dollars.

General, having been made acquainted with the subject matter of this resolution, recommends it to the favourable consideration of the house.
