Loan applications under the Dominion Housing Act and the Home Improvement plan which are rejected by the approved lending institutions are not forwarded to the Department of Finance. Therefore, the only records kept by the department are those of loans actually made.

As indicated by the honourable the Minister of Public Works in answer to a somewhat similar question on February 4th (Hansard, page 535), the new head office building of the Bank of Canada is being constructed by the bank for itself. If this inquiry were addressed directly to the Bank of Canada they, no doubt, would be glad to furnish the information desired.
