Mr. J. G. DIEFENBAKER (Lake Centre):

I should like to direct a question to the Minister of Munitions and Supply on a matter of very serious concern to the farmers in consequence of the order that has been made forbidding the use on Sundays of trucks, which is the only means of transportation that many farmers have. Has the minister given consideration to permitting farmers to use their trucks on Sundays, subject of course to conformity with the gasoline regulations?

Hon. C. D. HOWE (Minister of Munitions and Supply):

I know of no regulation forbidding the use of trucks on Sundays. I know there is a regulation forbidding the use of trucks for pleasure travel, and if the two are synonymous the regulation would apply.
