Mr. ILSLEY:

It would be an exact repetition I gave to the previous question. The amount carried to deferred maintenance reserve is for deferred maintenance, not for capital additions and betterments. This expenditure the house is being asked to authorize is for capital additions and betterments. It is proper to take money out of reserves for depreciation and discount amortization, but not proper to take it out of reserve for maintenance.
