Mr. Guy Rouleau (Dollard):
I should like to ask the Acting Minister of Justice if he is in a position to reply to the question I put to him yesterday.

I have made inquiries and I find that no report has yet been received. The investigation is still continuing.

On the orders of the day:
Mr. Maurice Johnson (Chambly-Rouville):
Mr. Speaker, I should like to direct a question to the Minister of Transport. Could the minister tell the house the result of the discussions that were to take place this morning between representatives of the federal and provincial governments about the abolition of the toll charges on the Jacques Cartier and Victoria bridges?
Hon. Leon Balcer (Minisfer of Transport):
Mr. Speaker, a meeting was held this morning at eleven o'clock between the representatives of the federal government, namely the vice-chairman of the national harbours board, the assistant deputy minister of the Department of Transport, and the delegate from the provincial government, namely the deputy minister of highways, and the representative from the city of Montreal, Mr. Gerry Snyder, member of the executive council. That meeting was held at eleven o'clock and I have not yet received any report about the discussions.
Mr. Balcer:
Mr. Speaker, I forgot to say that a representative of the treasury board also attended that meeting.

Inquiries of the Ministry
Hear, hear.
Mr. Garland:
I wonder, Mr. Speaker, if you would see the Minister of Public Works.
Mr. Speaker:
I shall be glad to try to fulfil both intentions at once. The minister has been very patient.
Mr. Walker:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, for seeing me. This has been better than the 5BX exercises.
I am always anxious to answer quickly the questions asked by the hon. member for Vancouver East. In reply to the question he put to me yesterday I would point out that drawings for a camp in the Agassiz area to confine Doukhobors convicted under the Criminal Code are under way. The housing units which will provide the bulk of the accommodation are prefabricated huts obtained on loan from the Department of National Defence.
The erection of the huts and the provision of services together with a perimeter security fence, are being undertaken on a day labour basis, with materials being obtained under the local tender call system and subcontracts for specialized work, such as heating, being awarded following competitive bidding.
