Douglas Charles Abbott (Minister of Finance and Receiver General)

Liberal

Mr. Abbott:

Speaking from memory, I think the Prime Minister announced that we hoped to achieve a reduction of between 5,000 and 6,000 positions from those provided in the estimates for the year now terminating; and that for the coming year-that is, the year which will commence on April 1- provision would be made for between 5,000 and 6,000 fewer positions than were provided for in the estimates last year.
IMr. Abbott.]
