Mr. Howard:

Unfortunately, Mr. Speaker, what is happening is that these people are becoming so blinded by statistics and percentages, hundreds of thousands of dollars and the amount of money in the unemployment insurance fund, that they are forgetting entirely that people are involved; that workmen have been out of jobs year after year because of the fumbling, bumbling and ineptness of this particular government. Almost a year ago now the government made a most stupid blunder in attempting to balance the budget because it was gambling with people's
Business of the House
welfare, people's lives, and it did not care so long as what came out was politically advantageous.
May I call it ten o'clock, Mr. Speaker?
