The MINISTER OF TRADE AND COMMERCE (Hon. Sir Richard Cartwright) :

,1. The steamer 'Amelia' made thirty-five trips to Magdalen islands and return during the season of 1901.
2. The tonnage is 356 gross and 103 net; cargo capacity, 15,000 cubic feet or equal to about 2,000 barrels ; holds certificate for 250 passengers ; sleeping berth for 20 passengers in saloon and same number in forecabin.
3. and 4. The further additions made to the steamer last year for passenger accommodation were three private cabins in the saloon amidship, fitted with two berths each, also there was rearranged a large cabin aft which was used for officers' quarters with sleeping berths for 10-both saloons steam heated, electric lighted and connected with electric bells. It is claimed that the accommodations have been more than adequate for the number of passengers carried. The berths were not all occupied on any trip last season.
5. It is not at present in contemplation to do so.
