In the absence of the Postmaster General, I beg to reply that information was received on the 29th of October last, of the death of Mr. Jacob Eilber, postmaster of Crediton, Ontario. The office has since been in charge of Mr. W. W. Kerr, who was assistant postmaster! under the late postmaster. No appointment, permanent or temporary, has yet been made to the office, and it has not been decided when the appointment in question will be made.
