All these things come to my . mind, and I can see before me the pallid faces of the dead, who have perished for you and for me, and the mangled forms of the wounded who are being carried off the field. To you, my comrades in this House, who have served in this war-there are a few of us here, thank God-I say, " Keep faith with the living and the dead, as you promised, in Flanders Fields."
