Mr. CARRUTHERS:

I would refer the
leader of the opposition (Mr. Meighen) to the dock built in our town during his administration at a cost of between $50,000 and $60,000, and which was needed. It was finished some six years ago. The contract called for cement eighteen inches below the water line before any construction took place on the timbers, and at the present time the timbers below that expensive structure are exposed about a foot and a half. This means that within a very few years that expensive

dock will crumble; the timbers will rot and the whole thing will be an entire loss.
