William Richard Motherwell (Minister of Agriculture)

Liberal

Mr. MOTHERWELL:

The chief industries that have asked for this provision, and have been doing so for three or four years, are the fruit growers and the potato growers of Canada. Their sprays are of vital importance to them. Unless they are able to spray successfully their fruit and potatoes it is all day with those products. We want it to be all day with the gophers and the bugs rather than the fruit and potato crops. That is the purpose of the proposed bill.
