This proposed appropriation is for the maintenance of stations on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts and on the great lakes for rendering aid to vessels in distress, for saving lives endangered by marine casualties and for rewards for saving lives on the

high seas under conditions of difficulty and great danger, requiring a display of exceptional bravery. No change is made this year. For example, in the province of Ontario there are stations at Cobourg, Goderich, Long Point, Point Pelee, Port Stanley and Southampton.
