copy of evidence, in the possession of the Post Office Department or any officer of the government, relating to the dismissal of Mr. Henri Mailhot, postmaster at Ste. Gertrude, in the county of Nicolet, Quebec, together with a return showing the expenses of, and the amount paid to each person present at the inquiry, including the inquiry commissioner.

5. What are the reasons for the dismissal?

1. Is Mr. W. D. Herridge, described in the report of the Imperial conference, part 1. page 11, as "personal assistant to the Prime Minister" the same gentleman who was appointed recently as Canadian Minister at Washington?

2. Is the office of "personal assistant to the Prime Minister" a permanent position, and will Mr. Herridge be replaced?

3. Is the position under the Civil Service Commission?
