FISHERIES. No, they have no direct control over them. Their duty is to report to the department from week to week how the fishery regulations are observed in the different localities.

The fishermen may differ as to the time that ought to be fixed for the close season ; and suppose the inspector of this government found that in a certain distx'ict the fishermen were not carrying out the regulations of the Dominion government in that respect. The local inspector takes no action. Has the Dominion inspector authority to have an investigation ?
