Yes, and the oatmeal has now become so general that even Englishmen and Frenchmen use it. Now, a word about the Confession of Faith. Do not be alarmed, because I am not going to discuss religious subjects. But there is a general impression that the Confession of Faith was prepared by Scotchmen. It took seven years of the best minds and the most eminent religious men in England and Ireland and Scotland to prepare the Confession of Faith. They sat in Jerusalem Chambers for seven years, and they sat there by Act of parliament, and parliament paid them.

Hon. Mr. ROSS (Victoria, N.S.).

I accept the explanation of the hon. the Minister of Marine and Fisheries. My reference was altogether to the maritime provinces, and, of course, I know of several cases in which the salary paid to the keeper of a fixed light is the same as that paid to the one who keeps a revolving light. Some changes should be made, and I have several cases in which I shall make application to the minister for some improvement before the session is through.
