Mr. BOYS:
There is no doubt, I think,
that there is further work in contemplation. Perhaps it is not yet decided upon, but there is other work, is there not?

Mr. BOYS:
Of course that is only a minor matter, but I would like to know at whose instance this is being done, and whether this is a power given to directors without the consent of shareholders or whether their action has to be approved by the shareholders.

Mr. BOYS:
What does the term "donation" mean? Does it mean a contribution as well as a distinct gift?

Mr. BOYS:
I almost hesitate to take up any of the time of the committee, but as the minister has mentioned the supplementary estimates, I take this opportunity of mentioning two wharves at Barrie which are in a very bad state of repair. When I wrote to the distriot engineer about this matter, he informed me that there was no appropriation to take care of it. These wharves are absolutely dangerous and I fear that an accident will take place. I think an item should be provided in the supplementary estimates to cover the resheathing of these wharves, although I do not see why it could, not be taken care of by the general appropriation.
I would imagine that from $400 to $600 would be sufficient to make these wharves safe, and that is all I am asking for.

Mr. BOYS:
I imagine that two inch planking would be sufficient to do this job, and I do not think the cost would be more than I have stated. I am not criticizing the district engineer, but he replied to me that he could not get the money to do the work. I hope the minister will see that it is provided.
