Hon. Michael Starr (Ontario):

Mr. Speaker, I wish to ask the Prime Minister a question. Can the right hon. gentleman say when he expects a report from the royal commission on security procedures in government? Since this commission has been meeting for many months, I wonder whether the Prime Minister has any inkling as to when the report will be made to him.

Mr. Starr:

Mr. Speaker, I wonder if the Prime Minister would agree to have the Canadian note and the reply from the state department printed as an appendix to today's Hansard.

Mr. Starr:

Mr. Chairman, the hon. member says that these departments are to be left over till tomorrow by agreement, but I was not asked to give my agreement to that. I have made the proposition that we carry on and complete all of the supplementary estimates. I agree to that, not to standing over particular estimates.

Hon. Michael Siarr (Ontario):

Mr. Speaker, I wish to direct a question to the right hon. Prime Minister. Will he look into the possibility of taking out of the supplementary estimates now under consideration the item or resolution providing for the increase of 15 per cent in war veterans' allowances, to see whether it can be given royal assent, so the war veterans of the country will not be deprived of these benefits at this time, and so their receipt of the benefits could be expedited.

Inquiries of the Ministry Right Hon. L. B. Pearson (Prime Minister):

I shall be glad to look into that, Mr. Speaker. There will not be any delay, because once the estimate is passed I believe it is to be antedated.
